The Petworth Antique and Decorative Arts Association was founded in the early 1980s to promote the town and aid good business practice. Over 30 years later, three of the founder members are still amongst the 37 current members today.

Voted the Best Antiques Town in 2004, known as the “Antiques Centre of the South” and set in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Petworth is a hub for an industry which has a proven low carbon footprint and where Antiques really are ’Green’. This highlights the importance of the craftsmen who designed and made these wonderful pieces which are on display in the antiques shops all within a walking distance of each other in this ancient and beautiful English Market Town.

Whether you are moving, refurbishing, renovating or just looking for that much sought after special piece, from fine traditional to vintage or contemporary modern, there is a very good chance you will find it in Petworth.

As Petworth changes and evolves, we have been fortunate to retain our long established quality dealers, members of the London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association (LAPADA) or the British Antique Dealers Association (BADA). At the same time we also have a number of young, cutting edge, fashion conscious dealers selling mid-century modern and bespoke designer furniture.

We look forward to welcoming you and using our expert knowledge which to help you make that important special purchase or just a small souvenir trifle.
